Flourish Conference 2008 was the result of a community colaborative effort to demonstrate the practical use and benefits of Free Libre Open Source Software. During the two days of the events, we had over 250 people in attendance, 17 speakers and 5 other events. We could not have put on such a successful event without all of your help. This page is our way of staying thank you!

The Core Flourish 2008 Team

These were the guys where the driving force behind Flourish 2008:

• Roberto Serrano - This guy did everything! He contacting most of our speakers, kept the Flourish team motivated and working. He pretty much organizing the whole event.
• Jen Anderson - As the UIC LUG President, she took care of most of the tedious paperwork, vigiourously defended our venue and kept an eye on our budget.
• Gary Turovsky - Gary designed the stage area, contacted speakers and helped with countless other things.
• Joel Luellwitz - This glorious, top notch website was written and maintained by me! (Shameless self promotion.)
• Professor Mitchell Theys - Thanks for advising us, providing us with contacts within the University and keeping an eye on the money stuff.
• Jim Cranner - Jim along with the Chicago Technology Cooperative, organized and ran Code for a Cause Hack-a-thon. This event would not have happened if it was not for their support.
• Cedric Hurst - Thanks for organizing the Friday evening networking event at the IBM Innovation Center.
• John Stushek - As the IEEE president, John brought the majority of the Flourish staff on the day of the event.
• Pawel Bak - Pawel did an excellent job designing the graphical theme for our website. We later used this same theme on the Flourish 2008 Pamphlet, the speaking stage backdrop and on several posters displayed around the conference area.
• Scott Franks - Scott spent a lot of time designing the Flourish 2008 Pamphlet. Scott stepped up and took on this task when the rest of the Flourish team was swamped with other responsibilities. Without him, we would not have had a pamphlet.
