Getting a Table at Flourish

Conference Location

The Flourish 2008 Conference will be located at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) on the third floor of Student Center East (SCE) in the Illinois Room and surrounding rooms. This venue is a huge improvement over last year's accommodations as we will be able to host nearly every event on the same floor within close proximity to each other. The address for Student Center East is 750 South Halsted Street, Chicago, Illinois 60607. Please refer to the Campus Map , this Google Map and the following directions.

By CTA Train:

1. Take the CTA Blue Line to the UIC Halsted station.
2. Walk east to the Halsted St. exit.
3. Once on Halsted St., turn right and walk south past Harrison St. to Polk St.
4. Turn right (west) and enter UIC Student Center East (SCE).
5. Take the escalators up to the third Floor of the building to enter the registration area.

By CTA Bus:

1. Take CTA #8 Halsted Bus to Polk St.
2. Exit at Polk St. and enter UIC Student Center East (SCE)
3. Take the escalators up to the third Floor of the building to enter the registration area.

By Car from I-90 West (Dan Ryan Expressway West):

1. From westbound I-90, turn off at Exit 52B (Roosevelt Rd./Taylor St.).
2. Continue north past Roosevelt Rd.
3. Turn left (west) on Taylor St.
4. Cross over the bridge and turn right (North) into the UIC Halsted Street Parking Structure. Parking costs about $12 on Friday and $7 on Saturday. When entering the parking structure, use the left most lane unless you happen to have a parking permit.
5. Walk northwest to Polk St. and Halsted St., cross the street and enter UIC Student Center East (SCE).
6. Take the escalators up to the third Floor of the building to enter the registration area.

 By Car from I-90 East (Dan Ryan Expressway East):

 By Car from I-290 East (Eisenhower Expressway East):

1. From eastbound I-290, exit onto I-90 East.
2. Before merging onto I-90, turn off at Exit 52A (Taylor St./Roosevelt Rd.).
3. Turn right (west) on Taylor St.
4. Turn right (north) into the UIC Halsted Street Parking Structure. Parking costs about $12 on Friday and $7 on Saturday. When entering the parking structure, use the left most lane unless you happen to have a parking permit.
5. Walk northwest to Polk St. and Halsted St., cross the street and enter UIC Student Center East (SCE).
6. Take the escalators up to the third Floor of the building to enter the registration area.

Code for a Cause Hack-a-thon and WAFD Rumble Location

Due to space contraints, the Code for a Cause Hack-a-thon and the WAFD Rumble cannot be held in the Illinois Room area.   The Hack-a-thon and WAFD Rumble will be located at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) on the second floor of the Science and Engineering Laboratories (SEL) in room 2262. The address for the Science and Engineering Laboratories is 950 South Halsted Street, Chicago, Illinois 60607. Please refer to the Campus Map and this Google Map.  Flourish Networking Event

Note that preregistration is required for this event.

The Flourish Networking Event will be hosted at the IBM Innovation Center located at 71 S. Wacker Dr. (Hyatt Center) on the Sixth Floor.  Please refer to this Google Map. There are entrances on both S. Wacker Dr. and Franklin St.  From UIC Student Center East, you can get to the IBM Innovation Center on foot, by bus or taxi cab:

By Foot:

1. Walk northbound (across I-290) on Halsted St. to Monroe St.
2. Walk eastbound (across the Chicago River) on Monroe St. to Wacker Dr.
3. Building 71 S. Wacker Dr. will be on the left-hand side of the street when facing east on Monroe St. 

By Bus:

1. Take CTA Bus #60 (Blue Island/26th) eastbound from Harrison St. and Halsted St.
2. Get off at Monroe St. and Franklin St.
3. Building 71 S. Wacker Dr. will be on the left-hand side of the street when facing south on Franklin St.

By Taxi Cab:
Taxis are generally plentiful along Halsted St., but due to the potential volume of attendees, we suggest that you call a local Taxi Cab company a few minutes ahead of when you plan to leave. We recommend Chicago Yellow Cab, which can be reached at 1-(312)-829-4222.
